Every industry has seen an explosion in iPad use over the past couple years, but for companies that present directly to doctors, Apple’s tablet could mean huge opportunity. According to a study conducted by MD Mindset during the second quarter of 2012, doctors are more responsive to presentations given on the iPad.
According to Peter Shaw, M.D., the President of MD Mindset, this increased receptiveness to iPad presentations has a lot to do with the inherently visual nature of presentations on the device. These visual aids help doctors absorb more information in less time, which in turn helps doctors effectively change their prescribing behavior.
When sales representatives used the iPad as a sales tool in a health care setting two-minute sales calls were almost eliminated.
